Association of Women “SELAM”
SELAM is the women’s association of the SABAH congregation whose continuity of quality work contributes to the development of the Bosniak community in Chicago as well as in our homeland BiH. Considering the educational structure of the members, convinced activists of the organizations in which they previously worked, and whose success and progress largely depended on their involvement, they are able to respond to the challenges faced by both the Bosniak family and the community, both in the domain of religion as well as in the domain of culture, politics, sports, humanitarian work. The priorities in the work of this association relate to nurturing the spirituality of Bosniaks, protecting families and women, preserving self-awareness, preserving morals and ethics in the family in accordance with the concept of Islam and the traditions of Bosniaks, as well as finding ways through which our community will advance religious, educational, cultural and social interests, and pass them on to younger generations. In order to realize these priorities, the association “Selam” has set itself the following tasks:

In the history of all nations, what women have done is written in golden letters. And in the history of Bosniak women, Bosniak women made an irreplaceable contribution by giving birth to and raising fighters, scientists and scholars who, some with a rifle and others with a pen, defended our religion. our culture, our country. In this sense, the association “Selam” will continue in its own way to preserve the identity, integrity and unity of Bosniaks and the Bosniak community in Chicago.
In order to achieve results and perform tasks, the Association has a fund and financial resources that are realized from:
