SABAH
History of Congregation
Congregation SABAH was founded in 2011 under the name American Islamic Center. From its establishment until 2016, SABAH performed its activities in rented premises.
Desire for own facility
When it became clear that the members wanted to have their own facility, they immediately started collecting money and searching for an adequate facility. After five years, the congregation managed to collect the necessary money and buy a large religious building in Franklin Park, which was owned by the Lutheran community.
The center consists of (4) parts:
- Masjid, space for religious activities.
- Educational-Cultural Center in which there would be: rooms for humanitarian work and free activities of children, youth and the elderly, library and bookstore, offices, classrooms, lecture hall, weddings and exhibitions, cafeteria.
- A multi-purpose hall where, in addition to sports activities, various cultural events, promotions, conferences could be organized.
- Omladinksi Center is a room that supports and engages young people.
